About Divanity

Divanity, the blogspot, was derived from a team by the same name that specializes in stylings of all sorts - hair, makeup, wardrobe, etc. The ladies - Hannah SFO, Mia G, Hazel S, Agee Dee, and Monique J - initially decided upon engaging in such a project in order to put the pleasures coming from retail abuse to good use. Fortunately, the project blossomed and nearly a year later, www.divanity.blogspot.com is heavy in effect. Spreading the word about fabulous finds with respect to merchandise, products, restos, spas, and the like has been well-received by readers.

With the movement expanding, our team (now a sextet with the recent addition of Ms. Margaux C.) is now equipped to dish out exclusive invites, promos and even occasional giveaways from our established client base. Therefore, Divanity strives to keep bringing followers what they want...

As a reader, your comments/suggestions are much appreciated and feel free to partake in the polls, forum, and other features of the site.

END OF THE MONTH TREND ALERT!

Haaaay girls!

Given that we can't really know for sure at the moment what demographic we are reaching out to in this blogspot project (at least not in percentage), I can only assume that most readers are in the 20s and up. Therefore, it is safe to say that most of you have long been done with school (if you're
not done with school, feel free to send me a pm or drop a line on the guestbook). However, this new trend alert that I would like to bring to your attention will make you wish that you still had to attend class. Oh wait, shout out to sista girl Mia, whom is lucky enough to have to attend French class! You will looove this! You'll be the belle of the ball.

Take a look at these chic backpacks!

Granted that throughout college I only carried around my handbag and loose papers, the last time I had a backpack was in high school and I believe it was all about Jansports. Yes, they are ever reliable and have lasted all these years (they are tucked away somewhere in storage and can probably survive even the use of my rowdy son), but they were not even half as cute as these. Okay, so now it is time to make justifications for use outside of school. Fellow mommies, can't we use these in place of diaper bags or for those with older kids like my own, who just need extra clothes, towels, and baby powder to be lugged around? And it seems as though the backpacks with the waterproof material were meant to be for mommies, what with the spilled milk and kids that seem to be able to stain everything. To the multi-tasking ladies that are required to run around the metro like nomads, isn't it tiring on the arms carrying your supersized handbags? I mean, don't the leatherettes match working attire? How about the musical ladies? You need to bring around extra clothes for your gig and no time to head home, so aren't the stars and other patterned types hip enough to bring around your crowd?

Now, the most important part - where can these adorable bags be found? The first source is http://www.chic1shoppe.multiply.com/ and another source is this auction site (may the best lady win!) http://listings.auction.ph/Shoes+Bags+Fashion+Accessories/Women/Backpacks/catid-110/

If you are the type to want to see the bags in the flesh as you shop (shopping is our cardio), I do have to give back to the aforementioned Jansport. For a limited time only, Jansport is selling their "music, tats, and flowers" backpack edition that have these really cute hippy-inspired designs. Just visit the branch closest to you.

And there you have it Divanity ladies, this edition of the "end of the month trend alert". Stay tuned for a lot more tips and finds next month. Tata!

Ahavia means "helping and healing"

Hello Divanity Darlings!

I have received yet another marvelous tip. This tip is from sista girl Caryl Benavides, owner of Ahavia Spa Lounge. Not only is this place beautiful, but the themes and packages on the menu are so diverse too. For example, there are the "dessert essences & organic body spa" treatments which allow you to be scrubbed in strawberry or polished in chocolate and with respect to the packages, where else can you avail of a "family getaway package", a "mother's indulgence", or "the ultimate couples therapy"?

Take a look at the place and you will definitely "ooh" and "ahh":
Per Caryl's tip, there is an ongoing "forever promo" which is an hour-long massage for just Php199.00 or the signature massage, which is P599 for 2 hours (that's right, TWO hours!). Also, if you aren't a fan of those woodsy no
ises that most spas play during treatments, Caryl shares that their express area has a wide flat screen TV where you can watch DVDs while having your services done. Girly flicks anyone? Very, verrrry nice. How's that for "helping and healing"?

Make your way down to this gorgeous space ladies and do return here bearing feedback.

Monique

Ahavia Spa Lounge is located at 173 Wilson St. corner Barcelona St. San Juan. For more information, you can contact +632-744-0343 or Caryl at +63917-539-6064. The Divanity team also has hold of the menu, which can be sent by request via email.

September Shopping Tip-off!

Hey ladies!

I'm here with another shopping tip-off this month and it is gu-hoood! This is actually a tip that I received from the designer's boyfriend via a yahoogroup. See how much the Divanity team does their homework? Alright, so what I am sharing with all of you is an upcoming bazaar, which features the designs of Jas Once, whom made it to the Top20 of Project Runway Philippines.

What really caught my attention with her designs are that they are so uniquely and delicately hand-painted. She designs pieces that have such an intimate, sentimental touch to them that I feel women can keep and pass on to their daughters and granddaughters. Below is a reversible jacket that I absolutely adore and a pair of the hand-painted fairy edition ballet flats:
Alas, I copy/paste the tip I came here for:

"I'm inviting you to visit the bazaar at the GT Tower on September 16, 2008. My girlfriend Jas will be presenting and selling her designs, what she calls her unique wear at the Food and Art Galerie. The booth is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. so all you office-goers have time to browse and buy. Jas will be selling ladies' jackets, dresses, shoes and bags. All designs are unique. No two items are alike. You have a choice of casual wear and office wear. A number of designs are inventive. Reversible jackets can be worn for the office on one side and the other side is great for a night out. Boleros are made from ribbons. Shoes and bags are hand-painted.

To get a glimpse of her designs, you can visit: www.jasonce.multiply.com"

Hope to see you all there ladies! Support sista girl Jas. :)

Bring sexy back! And bring healthy back to boot!

Hi ladies!

I'm back to post a "tip" from our contact from Easy Phamax - it's a company that does a colon cleanse/detox program that doesn't require checking into a hospital nor sticking things in places where one must never have to stick things (if you know what I mean). They say that death begins in the colon and even the food that we eat can build up unsightly toxins that regular stool can't eliminate. In short, this program gets 5 lipsticks and is the real deal. Read on to find out more:

"Do you have problems with bloating, acid indigestion, constipation, high cholesterol, etc.? Do you want to lose weight? Or simply want to detoxify and feel better, younger and more energized?

Think about it? Although we brush our teeth two to three times daily, we still have to go to our dentist regularly to clean and remove the plaque from our teeth. But what do we do about all the accumulated garbage that is retained in our colon that is being re-absorbed back into our system, causing all kinds of health problems from simple bloating and acid indigestion to more serious stuff like tumors and even colon cancer.

Well, now you can easily and safely remove all those toxins in your colon with the SO EASY 3 day cleansing program!

The So Easy program is an effective way to detoxify and remove all the years of retained and accumulated toxins which have combined with your colon’s mucous lining, producing the “mucoid plaque” in your colon.

Check out the testimonials and pictures at www.3daycleanse.com.

The So Easy products are 100% natural – made from wheatgrass, fruits and vegetables in the form of juices and nutritious shakes.

Try it and see how good it will make you look and feel!"

To those of you that can't seem to bring yourself to the gym...here is a major incentive!

Just posting a "tip" coming from a diva girlfriend over at Slimmer's World, Michelle Sadiasa. She wanted me to inform everyone that this promo is available only for the month of September - 2 treatments for just Php1,000.00. A Swedish Massage and Facial Skin System - you'll come out with a glowing body and a glowing face. Pretty sweet, right?
This certificate can be found at all (13) of the Slimmer's World branches so there
must be a way for each of you ladies to try this out. If there were promos like this more often, I bet more ladies would be strutting their stuff at the gym! Have fun girls.

What's Hot for September

Haaaay girls!

I hope everyone had a lovely, well-rested weekend. I didn't. Yo
u know why? I was restLESS thinking about my topic for WHAT'S HOT FOR SEPTEMBER. Square-toed pumps and sky high peep-toe sandals are all the rage! Yes, pointy-toed, round-toed, and semi-round toed pumps will have their chances again somewhere along the fash
ion merry-go-round, but for now...it's all about the square-toed lovelies! As for the peep-toe sandals, they just happen to be the most provocative development introduced to heels since the discovery of toe cleavage (I heart Christian Louboutin for life because of that)! AND...I just happened to spot the most delicious pairs (with respect to both styles)!

Of course I will give you the full-on dish about where to find the most gorgeous pumps you could get hold of in the metro. Hint? Hmm...how about the font color th
at I'm using? Okay, fine fine. I won't leave you in suspense. All you ladies need to do is log on to www.poshandpurple.multiply.com in the privacy of your own homes and splurge away. Modes of payment include credit card, and for the ladies that don't want to have evidence aka bills lying around, you may pay via g-cash or direct deposit to the site owner's accounts (stated on th
e site). You will find the chic-est, designer shoes for really friendly prices!

Here is a little preview to make you all believers:

Do we loooooves it? :) I rest my case. Happy shopping ladies and do hit me up to let me know which ones you all chose. Till next time...

Monique
